New Mentoring Initiative and Team Workshops Aim to Enhance Community Project Experience

We’re excited to announce two new additions to the annual program to support the team project experience: Team Project Workshops and the Alumni Mentorship Initiative.

We’ve launched Team Project Workshops to give teams more support by developing a solid foundation for working together and to ensure a positive, productive team experience. During the workshop, teams meet with their organizational lead and establish important team roles and processes. They also meet with their alumni mentor to establish an agreement for working together. Mentor?! That’s right, we’ve also launched an Alumni Mentorship Initiative!

LSC’s Alumni Mentoring Initiative is a peer-to-peer resource to aid in the success of class projects. It’s also a meaningful engagement opportunity for LSC alumni and class members to help to cultivate valuable connections and learning within the annual program and beyond.

This year’s mentors from the Class of 2019 include Chris Cruz, Nativity Prep; Bridget Flynn, Southcoast Health; Deirdre Jannerelli, BankFive; Kleidy Oliveira, New Bedford Public Schools; Patti Rego, Marion Institute; and Nathan Vaughan, Bristol Community College.
