What do you do professionally?

I am the Vice President of Program Operations at People, Incorporated.  I provide guidance and direction to our growing programs serving children, families and adults with disabilities primarily in the Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton area. People, Incorporated is a $35 million company with over 750 employees and is the third largest employer in Fall River.

How are you involved in the community and what motivates you to engage?

Born and raised near Worcester, Massachusetts, I now live in East Providence, however, I worked for a nonprofit company in Fall River in the 90s. I enjoyed living in Fall River; I always found the people incredible and the community diverse, with such potential if we could find ways to work together collaboratively. I have lived in many places across the country but the SouthCoast region always called out to me. I am involved in many community committees because of my position.

What did you find most valuable about the LSC experience and how did it contribute to your community leadership?

It was great to have the opportunity to learn about the community and how it has changed since the 90’s.  Meeting so many incredible leaders in the community helped me reintegrate back to the area and I will forever be grateful to Leadership SouthCoast.  When I lived across the country, I participated in four leadership courses in different cities and I enjoyed sharing the various ways programs were organized with Jennifer.  I am very honored that I was selected to be a board member and sit on the Program Committee.

Describe your leadership in one word.

Passionate. Leadership begins from within and you have to live it and breathe it to make it come to life.
