Strategist, Business and Speaker Coach
Dolores is a 2012 LSC graduate and speaking coach whom you might also recognize as the TEDxNewBedford Conference organizer. “I feel that the way I give back to my community is through what I love to do best, highlighting and sharing ideas that impact the world. Ideas that inspire us and lead us to better versions of ourselves, our communities, our world,” says Dolores. The next TEDxNewBedford Conference is scheduled for November 4 where 15 regional and national speakers will share their inspirational stories around the theme of “VISION” to give us a glimpse of our future. What do you do professionally?
I’m a Strategist, Business & Speaker Coach. I’m also the organizer for TEDxNewBedford. I have my own business where I help my clients become leaders in their fields, clarify their messages, their strategies and business models. My clients become speakers, authors, and thought leaders – elevating themselves from doing the work to leading the conversation.
How are you involved in the community and what motivates you to engage?
I’m passionate about ideas, I’ve always been. Four years ago, together with Chris Rezendes, we decided to bring the TED experience to our New Bedford community by organizing TEDxNewBedford. I’ve since taken the lead for this event that has now grown into a 1,200 person flagship event once a year plus six Salons through out the year that bring people together for a conversation. I feel that the way I give back to my community is through what I love to do best: highlighting and sharing ideas that impact the world. Ideas that inspire us and leads us to better versions of ourselves, our communities, our world.
What did you find most valuable about the LSC experience and how did it contribute to your community leadership?
LSC brought me an understanding and knowledge of the community I am part of. It opened the doors to new connections and helped me learn more about the needs and the gifts of our community.
